I grew up Los Angeles, California, and while I was exposed to nature and reminded of the little eco-friendly actions (I can practically hear my mom yelling at my ten-year-old self, don’t forget your reusable water bottle), it wasn’t until two years ago, at age seventeen, that I became truly aware. And by aware, I mean conscious of how humans, including myself, impacted the state of the planet and how much I crave genuine natural connection, whether that be in the peace of undisturbed landscape or in the presence of human community.
Since 2017, I have been on a journey to living more ethically and sustainably, embarking on personal paths towards food-waste reduction, minimalism, and secondhand consumption. Leading by example, I have been slowly introducing my friends and family to my lifestyle.
But beyond my individual impact, I seek to positively impact the planet at the collective scale. I’m currently working on my activist skills as well as expanding my network. I look forward to being a voice for change on my college campus through climate action and waste reduction task forces.
In my free time, I love to learn through watching YouTube and reading, as well as watch YouTube and read for pleasure. You can also catch me spending lots of time cooking in the kitchen and dreaming of living and traveling in a tiny house!
